In 2010, Chaz experienced a profound inner call to venture beyond conventional music engagements in search of a more profound connection. This inner yearning led him on a spiritual pilgrimage through Mexico and Guatemala, where he visited the ancient temple pyramids of Palenque, Tulum, and other revered sites during the pivotal year of 2012, which marked the conclusion of the Mayan calendar. During his travels, he engaged with local shamans and reconnected with the ancient wisdom of sacred sound and music through various indigenous ceremonies. His journey ignited a passion for deepening his understanding of sacred music, sacred geometry, and indigenous cosmologies.
